Selected in the first round of the 2009 USHL Entry Draft, Hartner returns to Green Bay for a third year. During his sophomore campaign, Hartner was named team captain. The Air Force recruit had USHL career highs in goals (6), assists (6), plus/minus (+8) and games played (44). Hartner also played a pair of games with the Sioux City Musketeers during the 2008-09 campaign, registering a goal in his first career game, which coincidentally came at the Resch Center versus the Gamblers. Hartner is a product of the Colorado Rampage AAA program.
